As a clinician, you’re always looking for ways to improve patient satisfaction. But sometimes, it’s hard to know exactly what to do. Below are a few tips that are sure to get more smiles (and referrals) from your patients.
Get a system in place
From coping with computer problems to handling complicated billing issues, your practice needs a system for dealing with any snafus that arise. It can be as simple as knowing who places the phone call to the computer technician or billing specialist, but there should be a chain of command that everyone in the office is aware of.
Don’t fix the blame; fix the problem
Many times, members of the office staff are afraid to report problems to their superiors because they fear they’ll be blamed for them. Let your staff know that you appreciate the time they took to bring issues to your attention, and that you’ll work on fixing them together.
Get a call service
If you get a lot of calls after hours, or want to free up more of your time for patients during the day, a call service is the way to go. Not only can it quickly handle matters of appointments, follow-ups and insurance questions, but it reminds patients that the office is always available – even when you can’t be there in person.
