There’s always some new health trend waiting around the corner. Whether it’s tai chi or chai tea, there’s never a shortage of new entrants in the health and wellness industry.
Many foods do actually provide a number of health benefits. After all, not all trend balloons are filled with hot air. Let’s take a look at a few of the health food trends in 2016.
Plant-based meats
It seems like everywhere people are jumping on the plant-based meat trend. You can find things like the impossible burger everywhere from Starbucks to Burger King to your favorite grocery store. This trend is sure to continue and grow this year and beyond.
Carb Alternatives
Low-carb eating is at an all-time high and cooks are getting more creative with carb alternatives. You’ve probably seen things like cauliflower crust pizza and veggie noodles but what about sweet potatoes in place of bread? Bell peppers instead of bagels?
“Flexitarian” Eating
Not everyone is ready to completely give up meat. That’s why the trend of being a “flexitarian” is gaining momentum in 2021. The concept is easy. Meals revolve around plant-based foods and meat becomes a once-in-a-while or a few days a week, instead of the focus of every meal.
